Partnership Program for
Adaptive Kayaking Instructors

Putting adaptive paddle support technology into the hands of active instructors.

Adaptive kayaking instructors play an important role in helping paddlers with disabilities, injuries, limited mobility and age-related challenges discover what's possible on the water. Through our Instructor Partnership Program, Angle Oar provides ACA-certified and other qualified adaptive instructors with access to the Versa and Gamut Paddle Systems at a significantly reduced cost, making it easier to incorporate adaptive paddle support equipment into workshops, trainings and on-water programs.

What's Included

Qualified instructors may purchase a Versa Paddle System at Angle Oar’s direct cost with an optional Gamut Paddle Holder System adapter add-on:

Who This Is For

This program is intended for:

  • ACA-certified Adaptive Kayaking Instructors (or comparable training outside the US)

  • Qualified instructors actively hosting adaptive paddling workshops, trainings or similar events

  • Programs expecting to run at least 1–2 adaptive paddling events in the next year

  • Instructors who want hands-on experience with the Versa Paddle System and/or Gamut Paddle Holder System in a teaching environment

"Over the past (decade), I've used the Versa Paddle System with participants ranging from stroke survivors to individuals with spinal cord injuries and cerebral palsy. It has become one of the most valuable tools in our adaptive kayaking program."

— Cathy Webster, PT, Adaptive Kayaking Instructor & Clinical Consultant

About Angle Oar Paddle Support Systems

We offer two paddle support solutions designed to reduce paddling strain while helping people remain active on the water. Versa provides the highest level of support and is often selected for paddlers with more significant strength or mobility limitations. Gamut is ideal for paddlers who want to continue using their own paddle while reducing fatigue.

Versa Paddle System

Maximum Support. Maximum Independence.

Versa provides maximum paddle support while introducing a unique, energy-efficient paddling motion that can help some paddlers generate propulsion with less effort and a smaller range of motion.

Often helpful for paddlers who:

Have use of only one arm or hand

Experience one-sided weakness following stroke or injury

Have limited strength, grip or endurance

Have cerebral palsy, paralysis or significant mobility limitations

Need maximum paddle support and stability

Want to paddle independently

Gamut Paddle Holder System

Supports the Paddle. Reduces Strain.

A paddle support attachment that works with a paddler's existing kayak paddle, helping reduce shoulder, joint and overall paddling fatigue.

Often helpful for paddlers who:

May kayak now but experience pain or fatigue

Have arthritis, joint, back or shoulder issues

Want to reduce strain but keep using their own paddle

Paddle for fishing or photography

Need support but not a fully integrated adaptive paddle system

What We Ask

Because this is a subsidized program, we ask that participating instructors be actively using the system in an educational or workshop setting.

We may ask participants to share brief feedback, photos or general information about how the system was used, when appropriate and with permission.
