Kayaks for Adaptive Paddling

Carefully selected for comfort, stability and compatibility with Angle Oar systems and other adaptive equipment.

Adaptive Kayaks

Not all kayaks are suited for adaptive paddling. We've carefully selected kayaks that work particularly well with adaptive paddling equipment, including Angle Oar paddling systems, stabilizing outriggers, supportive seating and other adaptive accessories.

These kayaks were chosen based on factors such as stability, comfort, ease of entry and exit, cockpit design and compatibility with adaptive equipment. Whether you're an individual paddler or part of an adaptive paddling program, these models provide an excellent foundation for a comfortable and enjoyable paddling experience.

Which Type Is Right For Me?

Best overall choice for most adaptive paddlers

Sit-Inside Recreational Kayaks

Our strongest recommendation is to use a compatible sit-inside recreational kayak whenever possible. That's because they can accommodate our Hinged Mount, which provides the highest level of stability and overall performance of all Angle Oar mount options.

Ideal when easier transfers or an open deck are preferred

Sit-On-Top Kayaks

Sit-on-top kayaks can be an excellent option for paddlers who prefer an open seating area or need greater flexibility when getting in and out of the kayak. Depending on the kayak, the Apex Mount or Twin Track Mount may be the best fit.

Great for spouses, caregivers, friends and family members

Tandem Kayaks

Tandem kayaks allow two people to paddle together and are often used by adaptive programs, families and caregivers who want to share the paddling experience. In many cases, our Hinged Mount can be placed either in front or back.

Maximum deck space and flexibility

Stand Up Paddleboard

Stand up paddle boards provide a highly open platform and can work well with adaptive paddling accessories. They are often used by programs and recreational paddlers looking for versatility.
