Because every single kayak is designed differently, it’s impossible to create a single mount that fits them all. (Believe us, we’ve tried!) If you have a very small suitable surface area in front of your seat on which to attach a mount, or you’ve reviewed our other mounts and none seem to be the right fit, there’s a good chance one of these bases, all by RAM Mounts, will do the trick. Each mount works in conjunction with a RAM Spline Post Adapter, a support post and a clevis fork, which holds the weight of the Versa Paddle or Gamut Paddle Holder system.
Many of these mounts work with our Twin Track Mount, using t-nuts that slide into the tracks and tighten in place. Using these base mounts in conjunction with a set of tracks, as shown in the photo above, will disperse the torque on the support post over a greater surface area. Since each base has a different width, be sure to check your kayak dimensions to purchase the one with the best fit. In some cases, you can attach the base directly to your kayak or in conjunction with another mount configuration, such as our Apex Mount.
