Canoe & Kayak Stabilizer Floats | Angle Oar LLC| Adaptive Paddling
top of page

Made from durable, rotationally molded polyethylene plastic, these outriggers by Wave Armor add significant stability to your kayak or canoe, helping keep paddlers upright and safe. Universally designed and easy-to-use.

The center receiving arm is 40" wide and the side telescoping arms extend from 69" to 83" in length to fit a wide range of kayaks and canoes. The hydrodynamic design of the 43" floats result in minimal drag through the water and excellent stability.

Great for adaptive paddling programs, kayak and canoe anglers who want added stability, or any paddler who wants the added security and steadiness the floats bring.

*The floats are a slightly darker shade of gray than the ones shown in most of our images.

  • The stabilizer kit attaches to most sit inside kayaks and canoes. The polyethylene weather-resistant floats are nearly indestructible and can be adjusted up and down as well as in and out. Anodized aluminum and stainless steel parts will keep it lasting for years.

    • Float Dimensions:  43″L x 6.5"H x 6"W
    • Color: Speckled light gray (not shown)*
    • 30 lbs of buoyancy per float
    • Frame Spread Dimensions:  69″ – 83″ W
    • Center Bar Dimensions:  40″ W
    • 2-year warranty
    • 16 pounds

Note: Hardware for a standard installation for either a sit-inside kayak or a canoe is included. Check to see you have access and/or can reach far inside of your kayak hull (e.g., via a hatch or behind the seat area) in order to attach the nuts to the bolts, as the outriggers are generally placed far behind the cockpit so they do not impede with the paddle stroke.

    Outriggers for sit inside kayak

Angle Oar 'riggers work well! The instructions started on step 3, but one doesn't have to be a brane sturgeon to assemble. Senior paddlers should avoid sit inside kayaks, I'm just no longer argile enough to get in and out without a cloths-on-bath. Angle Oar outriggers turned a tippy kanew into a 6 ft wide bottom pleasure yacht. Mounting hardware is adaptable to any kayak/canoe and take-apart design stows easily inside the craft for transport. Well worth the purchase price, Thanks Angle Oar!

Julie is back on the water!!

With some careful measuring to mount the small brackets on the back deck of her kayak the rest of the hardware, the center bar and kayak stabilizer-floats, are easy to install on her kayak at the waters edge.

Then at the end of the day all the parts fit inside her kayak and ready for the next outing.

They make it so safe for Julie to be back on the water!!

    Thanks,

    Julie and Jeff

    float stabilizers

Since it is not the kayaking season for us, we have not put the stabilizers on our kayaks, however we have another kayak that has them on it and they work great. Thank you
